UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS
Leon Greenberg has assisted many workers who are undocumented immigrants, meaning workers who come from other countries and who do not have proper papers to be legally employed in the United States. Many of these workers are also paid in a "cash off the books" fashion. Undocumented workers have the right to be paid their agreed upon wages, a minimum wage and overtime and the right to go to Court to sue to collect their unpaid wages, unpaid minimum wages and unpaid overtime. While you may have heard about Court decisions limiting undocumented immigrants' legal rights those decisions do NOT change an undocumented immigrant's right to collect their unpaid wages in Court. Some immigrants also fear that they may be deported if they try to sue their employer. Undocumented immigrants live in constant fear of deportation but in over ten years of practicing law, and representing hundreds of undocumented immigrants, no client of Leon Greenberg has ever been deported as a result of a lawsuit they brought against their employer. Please do not be deterred from contacting our office because you were, or are, an undocumented immigrant worker.
