[Government Project Wages]

The Laws in New York, Nevada, California and in many other States require that all construction employees who work on "public works" projects (government paid public construction projects, such as building or renovating schools, roads, government buildings and so forth) be paid a "prevailing wage" which is frequently equal to the union wage. Union wages for construction workers, even for relatively unskilled trades, are typically $20 to $30 an hour or more plus benefits. The New York public works prevailing wage law covers not only construction workers but also building maintenance workers (such as janitors and building security personnel).   Prevailing wage laws usually cover all State, City, County and Local government buildings/construction projects.  Many employers fail to pay their employees the proper prevailing wages that these laws require. The Law Office of Leon Greenberg has recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars for workers who were denied proper prevailing wages. Please contact us if you have any questions about a possible claim for public works prevailing wages.
